Now New Zealand Fire Extinguishers have secured new alarms that are 'Radio Interlinked', this means that if one alarm within a dwelling detects a fire - All alarms within the property will operate. This is ideal for people with garages or farmers with sheds as you will be alerted even if the actual alarm operating is out of earshot! Also if you press the Hush button on one alarm all alarms will hush.
This interconnecting feature allows many alarms to be connected
together and thus allows all the alarms to sound when any one is
activated. The wireless signal transmission technology avoids any need
for wiring (although they can be wired together if required) and allows the smoke alarms to be placed further
apart when compared to a wired installation.
